Equs Medical Insurance

Cover equivalent to the approximate cost of a daily newspaper per day.

When your healthcare needs become life changing you can be sure that the clinical care you will receive in the NHS is second to none. Equs from General & Medical is there for when you want admission to hospital for surgery to treat an acute condition at a time that suits you. The private medical sector offers excellent clinical care for treatment at your convenience in hotel like surroundings. Equs gives you the best of both worlds. Allowing you to combine the excellence of the private medical sector for convenient and immediate access to treatment with the unrivalled clinical care provided by the NHS for those life-changing situations.

Equs does not cover the cost of non-surgical treatment, emergency treatment, or Out-patient treatment (other than initial consultation and diagnostics) that is not related to an in-patient admission. Neither does Equs cover the treatment of cancer or cardio-vascular conditions, but we will pay for your initial consultation and diagnostic tests, giving you the opportunity to find out if something is wrong very quickly.

Some of the conditions we cover.

With Equs there are approximately 1800 hospital procedures for which we provide cover. Some of the more common procedures that we see are for knee and shoulder conditions, gynaecological problems, heart conditions, hip replacements, varicose veins and hernia repairs. There are simply, too many procedures to mention here.

Full details of cover can be found on the summary of benefits table.
