When taking out cover with General & Medical there are options which are part and parcel of our policies that will affect your monthly premium so you should consider these options before you choose to see which option best suits your budget.
Hospitals
We continue to build longstanding relationships with medical facilities that can provide the level of care we expect for our clients, these are called our participating hospitals. There are many factors that determine the rates we can negotiate with medical facilities and this is reflected in the prices to you. They are grouped as follows:
First Choice:
Benefit from our lowest fees by virtue of our longstanding relationships with renowned partners such as BMI, Spire and Ramsay.
Freedom:
All the First Choice facilities plus more both private and NHS to choose from and if you require treatment necessitating in an overnight stay in a First Choice facility when you have chosen Freedom option you will get back £100 per night of your stay.
Premium:
This option costs a little more than Freedom on your monthly premiums but for this you have access to the some of the top facilities mainly in the Greater London area who can charge more for their services plus you still have access to all Freedom and First Choice facilities.

Excess
Excess is an amount you determine that you will pay towards each claim you make on your policy. The excess choices available to you are £0, £100, £150, £200, £250, £500 or £1000. The higher the excess you choose the less you monthly premium will be. Please keep this in mind when using our quote calculator to determine which policy and choices are right for you.
