Self-assessment: VTE

Venous Thromboembolism is a painful condition where a blood clot forms in the body (usually in the leg) and breaks free, travelling in the blood to the lungs.

When a blood clot forms, this is known as DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) and when a blood clot breaks free this is known as PE (Pulmonary Embolism). VTE happens when both DVT and PE occur in the body.

If you'd like to know your risk of getting VTE, take our self-assessment. It will tell you your current risk and how to prevent VTE.
