Easter is an eggciting (sorry) time for both children and adults.
While celebrating the true meaning of Easter, the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, we come to the end of lent and gorge on Easter eggs and indulge in family time. All these Easter eggs seem like a great idea at the time but by bank holiday Monday, you’ll be wishing you hadn’t tested your body quite so much. To get the perfect balance of indulging and moving, we thought we’d help you out by providing you with all the info you need to get outdoors this weekend. Whether you go to an Easter egg hunt or the racing, you’ll be on your feet, walking about and running from the rain so that by the time you unwrap those eggs on Sunday, you’ll deserve them.
Charity Garden Opening – Floors Castle
Floors Garden can be reached from Edinburgh and at this time of year, you should be able to see some of their beautiful snowdrops! There is also a Terrace Café, Castle Kitchen deli shop and play area to explore. From Friday 30th March – Monday 2nd April you can take your little ones to the Roxy Bear Activity Trail, a series of adventures for you to discover. Glasgow’s Music Mile Walking Tour
The tour starts outside the Royal Concert Hall and will guide you around Glasgow’s music scene to finish at King Tut’s. The tours start at 2pm and run throughout the weekend. You’ll have walked 2.4km which is 3,000 steps so on your way to earning an Easter egg! You will need to book yourself a ticket on the website: www.glasgowmusiccitytours.com
Tennet’s Heritage Walk Trail
You need to book in advance for Tennet’s Heritage Walk Trail in Glasgow on the 31st March. The walk starts at 10am from Glasgow Cathedral and the guides will then lead you through the Glaswegian past, one step at a time. You’ll learn about the history of Glasgow, pick up some new jokes and work up an appetite for Easter Day! Call 01412027145 to book.
Easter Egg Hunt at Wynyard Hall
On Easter Day, Sunday 1st April from 12pm – 4pm, you will be able to visit Wynyard Hall and follow a fun trail around the gardens collecting clues in order to find your Easter egg at the end of the hunt. The café and farm shop will also be open and there’s an animal petting farm, face painting and plenty of crafts to do too.
Easter Special at Head of Steam, Darlington Railway Museum
For an Eggstraspecial day out, join Head of Steam at Darlington Railway Museum for egg hunts, face painting and much more. This event is on the 1st April from 10am until 4pm.
Dusty’s GIANT Easter Duck Hunt – Burscough
This eggstravaganza has been running from Saturday 24th March and you can visit until the 8th of April. There is so much to do as well as what sounds like a fantastic egg hunt that it’s really worth a visit. Get your wellies on and get into the wild for a great weekend out! Easter Heritage TramTour 2018 – Blackpool
The Blackpool Heritage Easter TramTours is running from 31st March – 2nd April and run every 20 minutes or so. It’s sure to be a scenic ride and a great day out if you’ve got family over who is a bit less able on their feet. Get yourself to Pleasure Beach to catch a Heritage Tram this weekend.
Easter Vintage Festival – Quorn and Woodhouse Station LE12 8AG

Woodland Pytchley Point-to-Point – Dingley

The Chepstow races may be a fantastic day out to watch the horses, but there’s so much more happening at the same time. There’s no need to worry about the weather as they have a huge indoor space called the Big Top in case the sun doesn’t shine.
