How to make alcohol-free Mulled Wine

Whether you’re pregnant, teetotal or the designated driver, you can still enjoy a hot mug of mulled wine at Christmas with this non-alcoholic recipe!

Christmas is always a social time of year, but you don’t have to drink alcohol to have a good time! If you want to cut down on your alcohol intake, or don’t drink at all, this alcohol-free version may be the thing for you! This non-alcoholic mulled wine is hot, fruity and bursting with spices, great to serve at Christmas parties or to enjoy at home.

Serves 8

Ingredients 

  • 1-litre orange juice
  • 1-litre cranberry juice
  • 2-3 cinnamon sticks
  • 2-star anise
  • 5-6 cloves
  • 7-8 whole allspice berries
  • Slices of orange to serve (optional)

Method

  1. Place all the ingredients in a large saucepan.
  2. Slowly bring to the boil and then simmer gently for 5-6 minutes
  3. Serve immediately in glasses or mugs with slices of orange (optional)
