Children’s Art Week

Let your children's imagination soar this month and encourage them to take part in some creative challenges during Children's Art Week!
When is Children's Art Week?
Children’s Art Week is taking place across 3 weeks from 29th June to 19th July. A variety of creative activities will take place throughout the upcoming weeks with a different theme to each week. So what different themes are there to look forward to and get involved in?
Week 1
During the first week, the theme will be the natural world. This will give your kids a great opportunity to learn more about our natural world and the small things they could do to make big changes. For example, putting their rubbish in the bin. By participating, you could be teaching your children valuable lessons whilst also making it fun for them by letting them be creative.
Week 2
The second week of arts week is going to be about connecting across generations. A fun idea you could use following this theme could be by taking your kids to see some family members. After doing so they could ask someone there to tell them a story and your kids could draw or design a cool picture based on the story! This would be a great chance for them to get really creative!
Week 3
Literacy and creative writing is going to be the theme to follow on week 3. This is going to give your children another great opportunity to practice literacy skills as well as being creative. Maybe you could give them a small idea so they could write a short story based on the idea or maybe they’d prefer to think of a story on their own and surprise you with what they come up with.

What are the advantages of taking part?
Letting your children take part in Children's Art Week can come with many advantages, such as:
- Your children will stay entertained indoors when the weather gets too hot to play outside.
- Letting your children take part will also help them become more confident with their literacy skills such as spelling and grammar.
- Their imagination will be able to run wild and they can take pride in their work.
- It might help your children to become more confident in sharing their different ideas to people around them.
