Fun Ways To Work Out This Summer

While the days are longer and the weather is hotter, it’s easy to just lay back and enjoy the warm weather. But why not try out some new exercises this summer!
Now you’re probably thinking, doing exercise is the last thing you would want to do when it’s hot outside, but why not get your family and friends involved and make it fun!
Fun Ways To Stay Active This Summer
During the school summer holidays is a great time to motivate yourself and stay active, as you can do this while spending quality time with your family and keeping your children happy and busy! The NHS website states that "children should aim for an average of at least 60 minutes of moderate or vigorous intensity physical activity a day across the week", so involving them in your exercise routines is a great way to support their health as well as enjoying the time spent together.
Going on a family hike through the woods or round a nice lake can help you get your blood pumping and increase your heart rate. It’s also a great exercise to help lose weight. This doesn’t just have to be a boring walk either, get your kids out of the house and test their knowledge and take them on an adventure with you! It’s time to lace up those boots and get out there and explore!
Another great idea could be to plan a beach day out. There are lots of different games you can play at the beach to keep active or maybe if you are feeling brave you might have a swim in the sea (remember to stay safe in the sea and ensure the weather is nice beforehand). Planning a beach day out can keep you staying active and allows your kids to have a fun day out!
But you don’t have to have a family day out or spend a lot to stay active and have fun. If the weather is nice, why not have a friendly water fight or have a kick about with a football! It could be a great laugh for your kids and allows you to have a little workout in the garden too.
If there’s something in particular that you enjoy doing or want to try out, whether it’s cycling, paddle boarding or rock climbing, why not try and make it more enjoyable so you feel more motivated to stay active, you could take a friend with you or join a group who enjoy doing the same things!
