Why wait until the end of the year to make new goals and reflect on things you would like to improve on when we can celebrate it during September!

Self Improvement Month is celebrated during September which means you have a whole month to reflect and improve. But in saying that you don’t need to take part the whole month, it could be at the start or even at the end of the month, it all counts!

Different ways you can make self improvements

A very popular way of self improving in both positive and negative situations would be journaling. Writing your thoughts down can be a great way to get things off your mind that may have been bothering you especially if you struggle with talking about how you feel. By writing things down, this will help you take one self improvement at a time. You will most likely also feel a sense of accomplishment as when you look back you may want to cross it off or keep it as a reminder! Journaling can also be very calming if done in a quiet, non distracting area, so maybe if you’re having a tough day, this will help you get some of your emotions out on paper.

If you are interested in doing something but never got around to doing it, now is the time to start a new hobby! Doing something you enjoy will help you get out of any bad habits that you may have that may also be putting you down. There may also be loads of other people who enjoy doing the same thing as you so this could be a great opportunity for you to meet new people and make new friends. Even if this is just through online groups or maybe through zoom calls, taking part in something you enjoy doing will make great self improvements!

Keeping a fit and healthy routine, whether that’s by eating healthy or doing some exercise or even both is a great way to maintain a healthy lifestyle. You will most likely see a lot of great self improvements. Or even by just having a little routine such as waking up and going to sleep at the same time or ensuring you are doing something productive in the mornings. By keeping productive or even by doing something you enjoy in the morning will dictate how the rest of your day may be. So let's try and start the morning positively!

However, in saying all this it is also very important to remember that it’s okay to take a break! Not feeling up to carrying on with your hobby for the day, perfectly fine! Really not finding the motivation to do a little exercise, no worries, take a rest day! It’s important not to overwork yourself and don't push yourself too hard!
