Quality Care

General & Medical have agreements with hundreds of private hospitals throughout the UK. At these hospitals, you will typically have your own private room with en-suite facilities, excellent food and unrestricted visiting hours. You are also likely to have the same consultant dealing with you throughout your treatment and nursing staff with more time to dedicate to your personal care.

A first-class claims service

We give a personal level of service to all clients. Telephone calls are never routed through a call centre or held in a queuing system. As a client of General & Medical Healthcare, you will be assigned a named Health & Care Support Specialist, fully trained in medical terminology and claims handling.

Choice and convenience

The service we offer at General & Medical is centred around two main points – choice and convenience. Appointments can be made at your chosen hospital within days of your GP referring you. If further investigations or surgery is needed, you can choose which hospital to attend and which consultant you wish to perform the procedure. Additionally, you can opt to undergo treatment at a date that suits you, fitting around life, family or work commitments.

Free Health and Wellbeing service

As the health of you and your family is important to us at General & Medical, all our Private Health Insurance policies come with free access to our Health and Wellbeing service. This means you’ll have a team of doctors, nurses and specialists who are on hand to offer advice and reassurance when you need it. We also provide telephone counselling 24 hours a day, seven days a week – with convenient appointments available if required. Additionally, our online Health and Wellbeing portal provides all the information you need to lead a healthier, more productive life. This includes active programmes to help you achieve your fitness goals and ways to prevent or manage long-term conditions.

Ways to reduce your Private Health Insurance premiums

Many customers consider lowering their premiums to meet budget constraints. For this reason we have different levels of cover, providing the best levels of cover at affordable rates. We also offer different excess levels, from £75 to £3000, which will impact prices accordingly.
